Come Follow Me: What is the Atonement?

Below is my lesson plans; the activities which I did and the free printouts which you see above.
This lesson was a little challenging to make "fun" but I do hope that it helps you make your lessons more hands-on and fun.

Molly Mormon

FYI: All printouts are original and made by me. However, the glass of water object lesson is NOT my idea. The credit goes to somesweettalkinggirl.com. I do NOT take credit for this idea. Some Sweet Talking Girl is an excellent website which you can view here. I would upload the image of her post to promote her, but I don't know if she would want that. I simply wanted to use it in my lesson but also to share my lesson plans with all y'all! Again, the glass of water idea is not mine.

Choice and Accountability 3

Choice and Accountability 3

"Agency, or the ability to choose, is one of God’s greatest gifts to His children. Read about agency in Joshua 24:15; 2 Nephi 2; and Doctrine and Covenants 82:2–10. With a parent or leader, discuss the blessings and responsibilities of agency. Record in your journal your understanding of agency and the consequences of choices and actions."

This concept totally reminds me of the fun children's game Chutes and Ladders. I wonder, for moms with young kids, is it even around anymore? I remember playing it all the time when I was little. My mom wholeheartedly purchased the board game, and I can see why.

You start with a player, and get many opportunities to choose throughout the game. Fun, right? Well, you also have to live with the consequences. Eat all your vegetables, and your player climbs up the ladder. You also grow healthy and strong. 😏 Steal some cookies from the cookie jar, and, well, your player slides down a chute, depleting your progress in the game. Did I mention you gain a few extra pounds? 😬

Straight from the value experience, we have your Ponderize quote.

Choice and Accountability 2

Choice and Accountability 2

"Read the pamphlet For the Strength of Youth. List in your journal each standard of righteous behavior the pamphlet outlines, and record why it is important to choose to live those standards. Practice living righteous standards by choosing three standards in which you need to improve. You might choose to be more selective about television, music, books, or other media, or you might improve your modesty, language, or honesty. After three weeks share your progress with your family, your class, or a leader."

Whether you make yourself a packet to complete this or print out the first page only, I hope it helps you with the experience!
Here's a scripture to Ponderize:

If you want to learn more about these set of standards and why they are important, this general conference talk by Earl C. Tingey should help!

Knowledge 4

Knowledge 4

"Select a gospel principle you would like to understand better (for example, faith, repentance, charity, eternal families, or baptismal covenants). Read scriptures and the words of latter-day prophets that relate to the principle. Prepare a five-minute talk on the subject and give the talk in a sacrament meeting, in a Young Women meeting, to your family, or to your class. Record in your journal how you can apply this gospel principle in your life."

I made this worksheet two pages, but you can always print double-sided, right? ;) The first page is what you see above and the second page has space to draft the talk.

Here's your Ponderize scripture:

Valentine's Day Heart Attack Service Activity

Miss last month's Mutual Activity -Time Capsules?

Hey, hey y'all! Looks like you found one of my short and sweet mutual activity posts. This one happened a looooong time ago, but I can still remember the amazing impact it had!

The activity is simple. All you need is construction paper, markers, and a target. We found some random heart doilies in our YW closet, so those ended up being used in our operation.

We had time to decorate the hearts, heart attack a nearby sister, and then decorate the bishop's door in our one-hour mutual time block. Both were so happy and touched, and this was an amazing service activity we all enjoyed. (Especially after eating the thank-you cookies the following week.)

Be sure to pin the graphic above to save the activity idea for later! If you're planning February activities, be sure to also check out the cookies and cards activity we did, which was a lil more recent.

And if you are in need of more activity ideas, don't hesitate to follow the Mutual Activities board to be updated when new posts arrive.

You can find a few pics from the activity below. So aesthetic I can't even... 😂😂

Pinterest + Come Follow Me

Who else likes Pinterest?

Want a fun and new approach to make your Come Follow Me lessons more interactive? Try a Pinterest lesson today.

You won't want to use it too often, but it's super fun when you whip it out every once in awhile.

It works for any Come Follow Me lesson, and should look something like the chalkboard above when you're done with it.

Ready to give it a try? View and print the lesson plans and printables here.

It's simple, but fun. Basically, you have everyone create a Pinterest profile. Write questions you want the Young Women to answer on the Pinterest boards. The Young Women's answers become, yes, you guessed it, Pins.

I hope it goes well in your ward. Enjoy!
