SO excited to study D&C this year. 🤩 The reading schedule is light & I’m so loving the aesthetic of this year’s binder printables!!

If you’re new to the blog (👋!!), one way to study Come, Follow Me is with a study binder. Each year I make the binder inserts as a gift to y’all to use & enjoy.

First and foremost is the cover.✨The iconic Kirtland temple, a forest and flowers all made this year’s beautiful look!

👩🏻‍🎨I went all out with the extra goodies this year. I hope the spine, motivational D&C bookmark & new foldable tabs enhance your binder and your study!

😎This weekly study tracker is so multifunctional. Plan out how you’re going to divide this week’s reading, record one insight daily, write your favorite verse from each study + so much more. 📋

Here we have the daily study page! I think the information bubbles in the middle speak for themselves 😂 but you may be wondering... what’s with the hexagons?

I designed this page to be used with the manual for Come, Follow Me. In the “ideas for personal study” section, you’ll find around 4 paragraphs like this one below, about D+C 1.👇

“The Lord invites me to 'search these commandments.' A preface introduces a book. It identifies the book’s themes and purposes and helps readers prepare to read. As you read section 1—the Lord’s 'preface' to the Doctrine and Covenants (verse 6)—look for the themes and purposes the Lord gave for His revelations. What do you learn from section 1 that will help you get the most benefit from your study of the Doctrine and Covenants? For example, you might ponder what it means to 'hear the voice of the Lord' in these revelations (verse 14) or to 'search these commandments' (verse 37)."

See also the introduction to the Doctrine and Covenants."

--Come, Follow Me for Individuals + Families, 2021

You’ll see there are questions, references, segments, activities and more in these paragraphs. Each bite sized question, source or insight can be written in one of the hexagons! 🤓 I've demonstrated this in the photo/video tutorial you can use if you're confused.

Pull your weeklong study together during church by referencing these study pages. Add your come follow me insights from the church supported sacrament meetings and 2nd hour lessons, building on what you’ve studied this week. 📝

While these printables are pretty, I made sure that they were practical as well. All study pages have black and white "coloring page" versions. 🖍

💁🏻‍♀️This reading schedule featuring the Kirtland & Nauvoo temples is the cherry on top. 🍒 The whole D&C schedule on one cute printable page? Yes, please! It's all yours.

But before you download + dash, I want to make sure you know that this isn't the only resource I have to make your life easier as a busy Latter-Day Saint.💛If you are confused on how to use any of the binder pages, I've made a photo + video tutorial to help you out. 🤳 And to easily see & have all my free Latter-Day Saint resources at your fingertips, follow me on Pinterest! 2021 come, follow me binder -- demo/diy

Hey y'all! You ready to make a 2021 study binder for come, follow me?

If you’re new to the blog (👋!!), one way to study Come, Follow Me is with a study binder. Each year I make the binder inserts as a gift to y’all to use & enjoy. Here, I'll use photo + video to guide you through each study binder page.

You know what you want when you see it? Are you ready to see how to put this thing together, right away? Then you'll love this quick video on how it all comes together. 🎬

You saw the inserts + the steps. (Ready to print? I share links at the bottom of each post. 🖨) Here they are in photo form so you can get a glimpse of each part for as long as is needed.

Isn't it so perfect that the prints from the video are free + easy to use? Scroll down for the link. 👇

I am just loving the Kirtland Temple as the front cover this year. So iconic!

Ignore the sketchy photography/lighting of the pic. 🤣 Enjoy what there is to love about this 2021 reading schedule!

This Restoration quote bookmark can help motivate/remind you to do that D+C study and hold your  place in your scriptures!

Hang it up on your fridge, wall, church bulletin board, or wherever you know it will help you stay on track for this year.💁🏻‍♀️

The spine + dividers are a few of the extra goodies I added to the kit this year! This step definitely takes the longest-lots of cuting, pasting, and hole punching. But I think it's so worth it to get these leveled-up divider tabs.

The final step is as simple as can be. 😌 Insert the study pages (daily worksheet, weekly page, sunday notes) and use them--how? I'll detail + share examples below. 💬

The first study page is probably the most complicated. Let's get it over with!

Next is the weekly study page. 😎

This weekly study tracker is so multifunctional. Plan out how you’re going to divide this week’s reading, record one insight daily, write your favorite verse from each study + so much more. 📋

Finally are the Sunday notes! I'm so excited about them!

While the above version is colorful, as I created the study pages, I realized to be realistic, there would need to be black and white editions to help people save ink. So the coloring page versions were born!

You can record your insights while your children are kept busy by coloring in the flowers and letters on the page. You can also give your children or yourself to enjoy on their own.

A spiritual way to entertain your little ones on Sundays? Yes, please! It, and the rest of these amazing 2021 printables are all yours.

But before you download + dash, I want to make sure you know that this isn't the only resource I have to make your life easier as a busy Latter-Day Saint. 💛 If you are confused on how to use any of the binder pages, I've made a photo + video tutorial to help you out. 🤳 And to easily see & have all my free Latter-Day Saint resources at your fingertips, follow me on Pinterest! virtual young women's lessons: 5 teaching tips

👩🏻‍🏫I just taught a virtual YW lesson for my fellow YW + want to help you with yours. Here are simple tips from a YW (me!) 🙋🏻‍♀️ to incorporate in your next lesson!

1. Keep It Short & Sweet 🙏

👩🏻‍💻I spend around 12-33 hours on video calls a week between virtual school, church and extracurriculars, and I think I'm no exception.😌 It is such a blessing that we have technology to meet virtually, but it also makes it very easy for people to get "Zoomed-out." 🥵

Quality over quantity, right? Everyone, no matter the type of call, will appreciate a lesson being straight and to the point. 🙏

2. Slideshow Magic 🪄

I think I’m pretty patient & mature, but on Zoom my attention span goes 📉. A pretty slideshow will keep listeners curious and engaged. In this day & age, it’s easier than ever to pull that off.

💻 There are SO many platforms that have templates & resources to help you make a super slideshow without experience in design. Some examples are PPT, Slides, Keynote & Visme.

🏞 All you need to easily create a killer slideshow is a good template & photos. The Church Media Library has TONS of photos & paintings free for church use.

3.Videos Rock 😎

🎬You will grab + keep attention with videos, so use them as much as you can! Start a lesson with a fun youth video. Instead of reading a Church quote, watch a clip of it. Instead of reading a conference story, use their videos. 📽

You can find Church videos here. General Conference videos can be trimmed to a specific segment on the Gospel Media app or in Google Slides. ✂️ I like to search keywords on churchofjesuschrist.org. 🔎 The Church also filters videos by the YW lesson topics! 😍😍

I've given you tips on teaching your YW Lessons. This premium resource will help you plan them like a pro! cool The 2021 Presidency Planner has so many helpful organizers for Young Women's! An editable Sunday agenda ✍, lesson assignment planner, and 2021 lesson chart ⭐ is included with your purchase.

4. Break out!

Anything to mix up video calls is a good thing, and this is another tool for your arsenal. Breakout rooms allow smaller discussions. 👥

You could assign groups scriptures and have them read & discuss it before sharing findings with the whole class 📖, allow people to share experiences in a more comfortable setting🗣, or collaborate in a lesson activity. 💬

You can make breakout groups randomly, manually, or in a CSV file beforehand. It's hard to know who's going to show up in advance, but it's nice to make good groups of leaders, separated friends, etc. 😼😂

5. Think Outside the Zoom 📦

Make video calls interactive! Utilize resources online like Jamboards, Kahoot (trivia & polls), Peardeck, etc. ✨

You could even share a Google Slide with the class (to edit) to do interactive activities in real time. (Ex: sort parts of a scripture in order, put together puzzle pieces of an image, fill out a table/chart). 🧩

Bringing the lesson to life will be appreciated as well. Send out a notes page people can print & write on📝, utilize scavenger hunts, play stop the reader and have object lessons.

Just like you would in person, which is the point of these simple tips! I hope that they help you as you serve and teach your YW! 💛

5 Easy & Time Saving Young Women Bulletin Board Tips for You

Who here loves putting up new young women bulletin boards? Even when I'm satisfied with the young women bulletin board end result, assembling it can be not only tedious, but time consuming. 🕰🙄

I tried set out to simplify this process as I set up our 2021 Young Women bulletin board! It turned out soooo cute, and we were able to save time putting it up by following these five simple tips.

1. Supercharge productivity with teamwork

Try This: There is a lot of menial work to do as you prepare for bulletin board setup. Doesn't cutting out elements + stringing together banners sound SO exhilarating? 😆 We can "bear one another's burdens" by sharing the load.

👉 You’re a hardworking + busy Latter-day Saint leader! Just like the other people in your presidency. So who can help? (Hint: it’s the same people you’re setting this up for…) 👱🏻‍♀️

YW bulletin board setup can be turned into an activity. Listen to the new youth theme music or talk while you work. 🎶 With so many helping hands, it will take a small fraction of what it would for you working solo.

It Worked for Us: 🙏Total shoutout to my mom, who helped me put this together from her years of experience putting up bulletin boards. My fab sister also joined the team. 🤝

2. Use a low maintenance setup

Try This: For better or worse, we live in a virtual world. 💻 I know some people like to keep their bulletin boards up to date monthly, and that’s totally cool. 😉 But if you hate updating your bulletin board, why constantly make yourself do it?

👉Make your bulletin board theme based & avoid any monthly or seasonal info like lessons, birthdays, or activities. Chances are, you already communicate this information digitally, so, no loss to your group!

It Worked for Us: We spent a Saturday morning setting up, then did some major high fives knowing we wouldn't have to update the bulletin board anytime soon. 🥳 We were able to do this because our (my) kit includes enough assets to fill the bulletin board without needing to add changing info.

3. Make a battle plan

Try This: I hate spending hours at the church on bulletin boards and getting so burnt out! 🥵 Save your energy by deciding beforehand how you want to lay out your elements ahead of time. Then, on assembly day, you're just stapling. No guesswork. 😎

It Worked For Us: 🕵🏻‍♀️I called this a "crime scene" because we measured the bulletin board dimensions & then made our own at-home replication where we could shuffle things around until we had our desired result!

4. Use a neutral background

Try This: This step goes into helping your future self—or whoever gets to change the bulletin board next😂—years in advance! 🔮

No one wants to take down the border and background off of the bulletin board in addition to changing it. 🙅🏻‍♀️ Do your bulletin board a favor & use a nice neutral color that will go with any and every color palette you may use with future themes.🎨

Ideas include:

Straight-up cork board ✨

Brown Kraft paper 🤎

Light grey fabric◽️

or any other neutrals you can find!

For your border, use another neutrally colored ribbon & you’re good to go for wherever the theme takes you in the next few years! 📅

5. Delegate its creation to save energy & time

Try This: 🙋🏻‍♀️ Been there, done that, and learned that it takes hours to create an effective & beautiful bulletin board kit. You can spend your time on this process (finding an effective color palette, researching meaningful quotes, choosing fonts & images that are cohesive, creating dozens of assets and unified designs...🥵).

👉But when you say “yes” to the long process of DIY-ing the bulletin board graphics, what other uses of your time are you saying “no” to?

😎 Get that time back by purchasing this supercute bulletin board kit to save you time and sanity, and excite & teach the young women about the theme this 2021 year!

¡Besos y abrazos!
