four back to school quotes

These quotes from Latter-Day Saint leaders all are inspiring as we go back to school. They tell us that we're doing as we gain knowledge + an education is needed in the kingdom of God as well as in this world.

I love President Nelson's call to everyone, everywhere, in every circumstance to learn. What we learn is one of the things we take with us to heaven--if a person gains knowledge in this life, he has an advantage in the world to come--D&C 130:19.

Wow, this is powerful. It reminds us of one of the core reasons for education: serving others. When we're educated, we can help other lives in addition to our own.

This is vivid imagery, and important to apply. Because, if we don't have the key, that would mean doors are locked. This is why President Hinckley also said, "It is so important that you young men and you young women get all of the education that you can."

This is great for everyone, taking the pressure of learning. Even living itself is learning if we pause for introspection, right? Anyone at any age, whether they are years before school or years after it, can continue to learn.

So... now that you made it to the bottom of the post, I have the promised PDF to share. But there's more. Do you love celebrating all the holidays? I mean πŸ’πŸ»‍♀️if you’re here reading this, there’s a pretty good chance.πŸ‘‰You can get this free printable quotes file here, and to get easy access to an organized library of printables to make your life easier + celebrating and enjoying these classic events cuter, follow me on πŸ“ŒPinterest! I'm also on Insta πŸ“Έ sharing pretty doctrinal + holiday quotes to inspire, and Etsy, with beautiful time saving designs for your calling. πŸ’›

back to school treat tags

School is starting up again! I have a free treat tag to share as well as some cute + exciting treat tags for this special 2020 year. πŸ˜·πŸ‘©‍πŸ’»
___________

As we go back to school, it's the season of making new friends and figuring out your relationships with the old. πŸ‘₯

It's also the season of possibly leaving your summer church bubble of family vacations and reunions, girls camp, youth conference, and EFY, as you have to dare to stand alone 🧍‍♀️ by living your high standards.
___________

So what's the solution to this? πŸ‘ΈπŸ» 2015 Cinderella -- backed up doctrinally by our scriptures, prophets and apostles -- has an idea: "have courage πŸ’ͺ + be kind πŸ’›."

Y'all can give this treat tag based on that to students you serve in your calling or ministering, along with a quote card with Elder Wirthlin's words on this subject. πŸ’¬
___________

He says, "Kindness is how a Christlike person treats others. Kindness should permeate all of our
words & actions at work, at school (emphasis added,) at church & especially
in our homes."  🏠

I wanted to leave out the end part, but it still applies. We can spend all our energy being "on" at work, school + church throughout the day, leaving no energy for kindness to those that matter most to us in our homes. πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦ It's an interesting mini lesson from his great quote, which is featured on the treat tags (link at bottom of post!) y'all can get for free.
___________

Now here's the kicker. If one is going to be home all or most of the time this school year, there's much less opportunity to "have courage and be kind" in a school environment. So how do we adapt our back to school messages to this crazy year?

This new packet in the shop has all of the treat tags needed to stage a perfect 2020 friendly back to school package to drop off to the students you serve. Use as little or as many of the tags as you wish!

The main idea/package tag for your gift says "school may be different this year, but you've got what it takes to succeed." πŸ“šπŸŽ’

Then there are treat tags for items you can gift individually over several weeks, put into a bag and drop off before the big day, or whatever works for you.

Some items are corona related--a doctrinal gift tag for a mask and hand sanitizer, but not all of them are, because we focus enough on this pandemic already! See the actual breakdown of tags below.

There are tags pairing with items great for those in Junior Primary πŸ‘§πŸ§‘(bubbles, crayons, glue, etc) and other items students of any age would enjoy (treats).

The treats the tags were paired with above are just the beginning of ways the packet can be used. Included is a pairing guide with tons of ideas for items to go with each versatile tag so that you can optimize these gifts for your group and your budget. πŸ˜…πŸ˜Ž

You will love this packet + it is a great way to connect with the children + youth you haven't seen for a while. Uplift, inspire, and encourage the students as you send them back to school this year with a gift featuring these colorful + cute treat tags!! πŸŽ

pioneer day quotes!

July 24th is coming UP! Here are four quotes to inspire modern latter-day saints today of all heritages/histories.

On Church Newsroom statistics pages, you can learn about modern pioneers all over the world. The stories there testify of this quote's principle!

Some of the pioneers' wagons were pulled with oxen. Others used strength and determination to pull their own handcarts. Both worked hard to pull a load, and while the oxen had literal yokes, the other Saints were literally pulling burdens across the plains.

The purpose of the yokes was to allow the oxen to pull two or more at a time, not to burden them. Them pulling together actually allowed them to pull even more weight. The same principle is true for us today. The Savior's yoke is easy and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30). With Him, we can find rest.

Maybe more so. These other quotes tell us how to be a pioneer, this one explains why we should each strive to be a pioneer.

This can totally apply to our own pioneer sized trials in life. Will we settle where we are, or step into the unknown with faith? It's all part of the challenge to become, right?

cute treat tags + ideas for pioneer day + trek

Hey hey! I've rounded up some cute candy bar pairings + free printable treat tags for trek or pioneer day celebrations! enjoy!!

pioneer treat tag #1: kinder joy egg

Here, my mind went to one of the most classic pioneer hymns -- "Come, Come Ye Saints," and I designed the printables to match the Kinder Joy egg's design + included several versions of the concept so you could pick and print your fave.

pioneer treat tag #2: milky way bar

Anyone, no matter their heritage, can apply this definition of and challenge to be a pioneer. Since the pioneers showed the way, you can pair this with a Milky Way bar, which I designed the treat tag to look like.

pioneer treat tag #3: take 5 + President Hinckley's pioneer words

These people gave everything they had to follow their faith and they deserve honor and celebration. I've designed a treat tag to match + you can pair this quote with a Take 5 bar for a mindful moment to appreciate what our pioneer forebears have done.

“I will boast of my God, for in His strength I can do all things”

Thanks to years of saving and working, and support from beloved family, customers, and friends, I have finally paid for my mission!

I’m cautious as I share this (and the only reason I am doing so here is that I had previously mentioned on the blog that profits helped to fund my mission) bc I hope to avoid seeming, and let’s get real, due to the natural man, being boastful as I celebrate.

But, as always, the most correct book on earth has some wisdom to share. I think this passage from Alma sums it up what I want to say perfectly.

“[Verse 11] I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
[Verse 12] Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things...
[Verse 14] Yea, we have reason to praise him forever...
[Verse 16] Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.”

—Alma 26:11-12,14,16

Y’all, I originally was going to title this post “I Did It!” but grimaced as the utter ridiculousness and pridefulness of this claim sunk in.

I would be NOWHERE without loyal customers, knowledgeable mentors, proud family and friends, my extremely supportive and amazing parents, and, most of all, my Heavenly Parents.

So to all of you who have supported me on this long journey, THANK YOU!!!

I’m not going anywhere anytime soon πŸ˜‰ but I am one step closer to going on this mission (which was no small step!!) and for that, I “will boast of my God, for in His strength I can do all things.”
