Divine Nature 7

"Learn the definition of the word peacemaker. Then find and read five scriptures that teach about peacemakers. Become an example of a peacemaker in your home and at school as you refrain from criticizing, complaining, or speaking unkindly to or about others. Pray each morning and evening to Heavenly Father for help to do this. After two weeks write in your journal what new habits you want to develop, how being a peacemaker is part of your divine nature, and how you will continue to be a peacemaker."

You can get the free printable worksheet here. I included a two week tracker to help, and in case you want to go paperless, edit it using Kami.

Above we have a shareable scripture quote -- and once you read it, you already have a scripture done! High-five!

"Obedience is an attribute of the Savior. Strive to be more obedient to your parents. Read Luke 2:40–51 and John 6:38. Develop a pattern of obedience as you make a special effort to treat your parents with respect and kindness and do what your parents ask you to do without having to be reminded. After two weeks record in your journal how being more obedient motivated you to want to continue doing so and how it has helped you understand your divine nature and the divine roles of mothers and fathers."

"Memorize the sacrament prayers in Doctrine and Covenants 20:77, 79. During the sacrament, listen carefully to the prayers and think about what it means to take upon yourself the name of Jesus Christ and how doing this should affect your actions and decisions. Practice keeping your baptismal covenants. Begin by doing something each day to recognize and further develop your divine qualities and to help you always remember the Lord Jesus Christ. After two weeks record your experience in your journal."

You can get the free printable worksheet here. Or should I say, packet... This experience kind of has a lot of parts in it. So to make sure that all were included, this ended up having a total of 9 pages... Can't afford (or simply don't want to) print all of them? Either select a few or, read the post "You, Kami, and Personal Progress" a post that will show you how to use my PDF worksheets without spending a dime on paper and ink. I'm so excited to release that unprecedented and very helpful post, making my worksheets truly free.

Good luck!

You, Kami, and Personal Progress: A Comprehensive Guide

Kami lets you add text to, write on, and draw on PDFs. For free. I post Personal Progress worksheets designed to help you complete the program using PDFs. For free. Seeing a connection?

As I head this blog, one thought always nagged me, poking into the back of my mind. You give them a free file to use, but they have to print it out themselves. Ink costs money. What if they can't afford that luxury?

Well, now I have a solution to that inescapable problem: using Kami. If you're reading this article right now, it means that you are on a computer or mobile device. If you are on a computer, you have access to one. If you are on a mobile device, you can go to your local library to get on the Internet!

So, what do you do? I take you on a step by step guide.

1. Go to the Chrome Web Store.

2. Search "Kami."

3. Click on the item with the puppy dog!

4. Click "Add to Chrome."

5. Go to my blog and find a worksheet you want to use. Click on the link and it will open the PDF. On the top, if you installed it correctly, there should be an "Open with Kami" button. Click it.

6. You should arrive at this screen. Things are pretty self-explanatory from this point on but I'll still give you a little tour.

7. Most worksheets need you to read scriptures. It would be useful to draw a checkmark after you read them, right? Use the Kami drawing feature!  Just click on the paintbrush and you can fine-tune your brush size, color, and more.

8. Many worksheets need you to journal. Now about how long would writing it take? Just kidding! Click on the "T" to add some text. Tip: I found that on my worksheets, you can type a line, then skip a line, then type some more and your writing will be in line with the lines on the worksheet. (If that somehow makes any sense!) If you hover over the text feature with your mouse, you can move it around and change the text size and more.

9. Once you're done, you can either mark the experience off or share it with a leader! To export a Kami file, go to the "Share" icon that is kind of shaped like a less than sign 🤓🤓. Hehe.

10. Now just shoot an email to your leader and you're good to go! Love ya, Sister Benston!

And that's that! Now for my little disclaimer... that not all of my worksheets are PDFs...!
My whole goal for this blog (which just so happens to be a value project) is to have all the worksheets out on beautifully designed PDFs. Obviously, if you've seen some of the Google Docs I've started with, that's yet to be accomplished. Of course, someday all the PDFs will be out there. I just don't know when.

So there you have it! An even more affordable way to get your Personal Progress in!

Yours Truly,
Molly Mormon

P.S. This is NOT a sponsored post. All Kami services are created by Kami and not by this blog.

Faith 7

"The Lord has commanded us to pay tithing. Read Doctrine and Covenants 119and Malachi 3:8–12. Since obedience to the law of tithing is an evidence of your faith, pay a full tithe. After three months record in your journal how paying tithing has helped your faith grow. List blessings in your life, both large and small, that have come because of your faith in the principle of tithing."

You can get the free printable worksheet for this value experience right here

If you are planning a Personal Progress activity around this experience, here are "5 Inspirational Tithing Stories" from Prepare to Serve that you could share.

Now that all the official things are out of the way... I did it! Now ALL Faith and Virtue worksheets are available. Not all may be redesigned. Not all may be perfect. But I did it! Only six more values to go.

Faith 4

Wow! I have officially done all the required experiences! And now we are going over to the electives...

"Learn more about the sacrament. Read about the Last Supper in Matthew 26:26–28Mark 14:22–24; and Luke 22:17–20. Establish a pattern of pondering during the sacrament by listening carefully to the sacrament hymn and prayers. Think about why we partake of the bread and water. After three weeks of following this pattern, write in your journal some of the promises you make as you partake of the sacrament and remember your baptismal covenants and what you do to keep those promises. Record in your journal how your understanding of these promises has strengthened your faith in the Savior."

Virtue 4

"Because the Savior loves you and has given His life for you, you can repent. Repentance is an act of faith in Jesus Christ. Read Moroni 10:32–33, the book of Enos, and the section on repentance in For the Strength of Youth. The Savior’s atoning sacrifice has made it possible for you to be forgiven of your sins. Read the sacrament prayers in Doctrine and Covenants 20:77, 79. Determine to partake worthily of the sacrament each week and fill your life with virtuous activities that will bring spiritual power. As you do this, you will grow stronger in your ability to resist temptation, keep the commandments, and become more like Jesus Christ. Determine what you can do daily to remain pure and worthy, and write your plan in your journal."

I tweaked this worksheet a tiiny bit from when you've seen it before (from the Easter Personal Progress post) but other than that, now it has it's own post.

WOOHOO! Now I have finished one whole value of worksheets! It may be the shortest value there is... but we're not going to dwell on that.

What was Joseph Smith's Role in The Restoration?

We're going with a dark blue theme for this lesson! I finally finished my lesson plans, printouts, etc, and so here we are. Everything, the lesson plans, links, etc, are all on the lesson forum which is below:

How It Went for Us:

It went great! Everyone loved the stations activity, which actually took up most of the lesson time. I ended up having time for the first three activities but not the last. But just because I didn't doesn't mean that you won't. Always be prepared with an extra activity, as sometimes you'll have eons of extra time and nothing to do! Good luck with your lesson.

Monthly Mutual: Scripture Bags for Girls Camp

It's the simple things! This Monthly Mutual activity is super easy to pull off and we made them so we could have bags to bring our scriptures to Girl's Camp.

It was just a class activity, and all we needed were canvas bags and fabric paint and markers. If anyone wanted to bring in something to decorate with, they were allowed to, of course!

We then decorated them and put on some good music, and that was it!

This isn't one of my big, blowout, super complicated and amazing activities that takes preparation up to weeks in advance. No, it's just a fun little activity that is easy to do, and I share it in case you need or want activities just like that.

Here is my finished one:

My hardcover scriptures and Personal Progress book all fit inside, and I could even put in my Book of Mormon study guide* in if I wanted!

Yours Truly,
Molly Mormon

*NOT an affiliate link, just a product I use and want to share.

** You can also do this as an Activity Days activity, just substitute the PP book for the Faith in God manual. Good luck! **

P.S. There will be one more Monthly Mutual post this month: Girls Camp Secret Sister gifts! Coming soon.

Mother's Day Personal Progress

Mother's Day is coming up! It may not be for a while, but I prefer to release things early than late. Let's get started...

After looking at the Personal Progress experiences, I determined that the experiences above were most applicable to Mother's Day.

Faith 2 ~ Every mother LOVES the story about the stripling warriors! Learn more about it in this experience, which includes your mom! Print the free worksheet here. BTW, I am so sorry that the "Read It" text is misaligned. I literally tried fixing and re-downloading + uploading it five times before I just said "meh, good enough."

Divine Nature 2 ~ You'll need your mom or a grandmother for this one, so might as well add it to the Mother's Day festivities!! Get your free printable worksheet here. Some ideas on the talks you can read are... "Certain Women" by Linda K. Burton, "LDS Women Are Incredible" by Quentin L. Cook, "The Moral Force of Women" by Todd D. Christofferson, "Women of the Church" by Gordon B. Hinckley, and "The Role of Righteous Women" by Spencer W. Kimball. Hopefully those five give you enough wiggle room for the two talks you have to choose!

Good Works 2 ~ Making the meals for two weeks would serve as a great Mother's Day gift! You can print the free worksheet here and you can attach it with these Mother's Day coupons here. I made them myself, and they turned out soooo cute! They even match the post's color palette!

Integrity 4 ~ In this experience, learn about integrity with your mom or grandma. Mother's Day perfect? Check! Get the free printable worksheet here.

Next up, we have some bonus content. Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

First up will be some Mother's Day quotes! Feel free to save them and share them! On a mobile device, press and hold on the picture and "save image" should appear. On a computer, just right-click to save an image. If all else fails, screenshot and crop!

Hope that helps! Happy Mother's Day, all!

Virtue 3

Wow, can't believe it's seriously been so long since I've posted! It's good to be back.

"Prepare to be worthy to enter the temple and to participate in temple ordinances. Read Alma chapter 5. Make a list of the questions Alma asks. Answer the questions for yourself, and make a list of the things you can and will do to prepare yourself to be pure and worthy to enter the temple and receive all the blessings our Heavenly Father has promised His beloved daughters."

Get your free printable worksheet for Virtue 3 here.

If you're having a Personal Progress activity around this experience, I suggest using the talk "See Yourself in the Temple" by Elder Quentin L. Cook. I got the quote for the worksheet from that talk and it seems like a perfectly applicable talk!

Finally, I rounded up some temple-themed crafts and activities.

Virtue 2

"Virtuous living “at all times and in all things, and in all places” qualifies you for the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. When you are baptized and confirmed, you are given the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide all aspects of your life. Since the Holy Ghost does not dwell in unclean tabernacles, living a virtuous life is a prerequisite to having the companionship of the Holy Ghost and receiving the blessings of temple ordinances. Read the following scripture references and identify the promised blessings: John 14:26–2715:262 Nephi 32:1–5; and Doctrine and Covenants 45:57–5988:3–4121:45–46. In your journal record what you have learned, and write about a time when you felt the guidance of the Holy Ghost."

Want to complete the experience? Like all the other Virtue ones, it is a one-day experience.

PS: You may notice that the worksheet is a PDF. It makes no difference to you, only to me, that I can create and share worksheets soooooo much faster! I'm so happy that I figured out a shortcut to share the worksheets. Look for many more coming soon.
