News Flash: The New Church Youth Initiative?!?

I saw the red icon.

One unread email, from the church. I shrugged, and opened it, briefly skimming its contents. I smirked. "Haha, knew that they would drop Scouting," I chuckled to myself, and forgot all about it. It wasn't a big deal, right?

That kind of attitude, mixed in with my early-morning attitude, stopped me from seeing the amazement of true, modern-day revelation.

I read the official statement, and was surprised. Not only would the Young Men programs be changed, but so would the YW ones. And so would Personal Progress.

I smiled, and realized how groundbreaking this statement is. Not just this. But everything that's happened in the past ten years. Ministering. The new missionary age. New temples, new missions, and now, this.

It is truly amazing to know that revelation is still occurring today. Things are changing in the Church. For the better? I think that I will trust my Heavenly Father and have faith on this one. And, of course, be excited that we can witness these changes today.

As I happily contemplated this to myself, I then realized something. Personal Progress would be changed?

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. I really don't know. But that's okay.

On the FAQs page about all this, I saw one important statement: until the new programs come in, "Children, youth, and parents should continue to fully participate in and enjoy the growth and development associated with the existing Primary and youth programs worldwide."

So, here is how I am going to take it.

When that day comes, I will excitedly learn what the new youth program will be and begin to follow its contents. If Personal Progress is changed, I can start the new program. But until then...

I'm going to complete Personal Progress. With only 1 and a half years left, it may not be easy, but it will be worth it. I will continue to post worksheets, graphics, and more on my blog, and take the challenge to complete it before the change. Will you?

Yours Truly,
Molly Mormon
