Monthly Mutual: Journaling Night

In January, we decorated time capsules. February, we decorated hearts. In April, we decorated canvas bags. In May, we decorated mason jars. In June, we'll decorate flip flops. Sensing a theme?

My class is very small (we only have three people in it) (I do not live in Utah, so where I live, the church is very small) so our class activities tend to be low-key and crafty! Our craft this month was a journaling night!

I made a few printouts, first a list of journal prompts they could print out, cut up, and put into the jars. Then I added in two handouts, a quote from Spencer W. Kimball and a list of journaling platforms. I personally am a digital journal kind of gal so I wanted it to be clear that as long as you are journaling, you can do it in your own way!

In case you're wanting to use any of the freebie printouts, below are:

-the journal prompts

- the journaling platforms and journal quotes handouts

So know that you've got your free printouts and are ready to go, it's time for the actvity!

Each girl brought their own mason jar, and we brought Mod Podge, decorating items, etc. We spent the night working on our jars and filling them up with journal prompts. The first four pages of the journal prompt printouts filled my jar, so I left it at that, but you can fit all five if you want to. I went the lazy route with mine, and just decorated it with strips of washi tape, but my friend, the artist, did some pretty cool stuff with hers.

In the end, this is what it looked like.

Hers. 🤩🤩

Mine. 🤓

This is a nice, simple church activity and I hope you all enjoy doing it, too!

Yours Truly,
Molly Mormon
